Commercial Operators

Commercial operators using the East Gippsland Rail Trail as part of their business operations are required to hold a Tour Operator Licence, with fees being set by “fee units” in accordance with the Monetary Units Act 2004.

Current fees for the 2023/24 financial year are set at $2.40 per person per day for an adult, and $1.60 per person per day for a child aged 16 years and under, with fees indexed annually.

It is an obligation of operators who utilise the East Gippsland Rail Trail for commercial purposes to voluntarily remit the appropriate fees to the Committee of Management on a regular basis, preferably quarterly.
